Video ~ “The Waters of Greenstone”

Have a slightly different video for you today. Normally I like to showcase time lapse videos because they are a combination of videography and photography. You have to take a series of photos, the photography part, and put them together in sequence to make a video, videography part. However, while you’re taking your photos you have to be aware of how they will come together in the final product.

Where this video is different is Nathan Kaso has combined several time lapse sequences with traditional video to create a unique video experience. Nathan does an outstanding job with camera movement during the video sequences revealing waterfalls and wide open expanses. He then transitions to beautiful time lapse sequences of clouds rolling through valleys and over mountains. Nathan had this to say about his video:

Shot around the South Island of New Zealand over three weeks, The Waters of Greenstone explores the ever changing landscapes of the Catlins Forest Park, Fiordland NP, Queenstown, Mount Aspiring NP, Mount Cook NP, Arthurs Pass NP and Castle Hill Reserve.

I really liked the combination of traditional video and time lapse video. I especially liked the video sequences where the camera rose up over a rock covered ridge to reveal the valley beyond.
