Pigeon Point Lighthouse

Pigeon Point LighthouseEarlier this year I took advantage of a four day weekend for President’s day and decided to take a camping trip to the California coast.  After the first night we left camp and drove up the legendary CA-1 to visit Fort Point and Muir Woods.  Along the way we came upon this rather famous lighthouse.  If you do a Google image search for Pigeon Point Lighthouse you will get numerous hit.  Most are from either much closer or taken from the north side of the lighthouse.

If you look at the before you’ll see that I had a lot of work to do to end up with what you see here.  I started by cleaning up all the sensor dust and dirt.  Next I applied a levels adjustment to set a white and black point.  Then I made use of some heavy Nik effects to really bring out both the color and detail.  Finished it up with a vignette.
