Drill Bit

Drill BitI’ve hiked the Historic Railroad Tunnel Trail in Lake Mead NRA twice and rode a bike once.  This was taken on the second outing with my daughter and father-in-law.  This is an HDR shot of the parking structure at Hoover Dam after we’d had lunch and were preparing to start the trip back to the trailhead.  Standing at the base I was intrigued with the concentric circles and how they looked like a drill bit or even a corkscrew.  I’ll admit that this sky is NOT what was present that day, and, as a matter of fact, the sky was more stark white than beautiful blue.  I cheated here and grabbed a sky from another shot as a replacement.  After adding it in I like the cool blue contrasting with the warmer red.
