This was taken on a hike along the Mouse’s Tank Trail in Nevada’s Valley of Fire State Park. This rock is located at nearly the end of the tank and sits just above Mouse’s Tank. The trail is described as being “named for a renegade who used the area as a hideout in the 1890s, Mouse’s Tank is a natural basin in the rock where water collects after rainfalls, sometimes remaining for months.”
