This was taken near the end of the scenic Artist’s Drive in Death Valley National Park. The drive is described on the park service’s web-site as a “[s]cenic loop drive through multi-hued volcanic and sedimentary hills. Artist’s Palette is especially photogenic in late afternoon light.” While this shot isn’t from the most colorful portion of the drive, but I like it just the same.
