I went into last weekend with little to no new material to publish. This was unacceptable to me. I decided to take Friday off work and just go for a drive. I had a couple state parks in mind and the drive alone, according to Google Maps, was going to take me 11+ hours to complete. Even though I was gone all day, I really enjoyed myself. This is the first of several images which are a result of that trip.
I had traveled north on US-93 to Caliente, Nevada and then turned south along NV-317 which runs into Rainbow Canyon. I had scouted this road using Google Earth and it looked promising for some shots in my Byways Project. What you see here is one of the first places I stopped. I spotted the far off abandoned barn or farm house and took some wide landscape shots (map).
