Earlier this month I made a return trip to the Wildrose Charcoal Kilns on the west side of Death Valley with my daughter and friend in tow. Both of them wanted to see what the kilns were like. Along the way we passed by the Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes and the kiddo wanted to stop and take a run through the sand. I told her that if we had the time on the way back we would. She was so well behaved on the rest of the trip I couldn’t help but stop on our way back through. So while the kiddo and my friend kicked off their shoes and took a stroll through the sand, I grabbed my camera and took a stroll of my own.
