While driving south on CA-127, I was admiring the landscape when I spotted a large, for Death Valley, pool of water just off the side of the road so I pulled over to investigate. I believe there had been rain in the higher elevations to the east and the water was draining to the low point of the valley to the west. The highway had a culvert and this pool was just to the west of it. There was enough water that it had created a decent sized pool and stream that continued west. I walked along it looking for some interesting opportunities and found this. Here is a map of where this was shot. If you enable satellite view and zoom in enough you’ll see the culvert, dry pool, and stream bed (map).
